Healthy Hair – What Not to Do

Healthy Hair - What Not to Do

Healthy Hair – Part One

When it comes to keeping our hair healthy and vibrant, we can often be tricked, by others, into thinking there are things we absolutely must do to keep a head of  Healthy Hair, but this is not always the case.

There are so many ‘beauty tips’ and so called ‘rules’ out there that it often becomes impossible to know which ones we should follow, and which ones are absolutely silly.

I have some natural hair care tips here that are going to sort out for you which you should follow and which you should totally disregard.

  1. Using one shampoo reduces its effectiveness
It has been said that after repeatedly using the same shampoo it stops working. This is not so but unfortunately it has been talked about so often that now, many Folk consider it to be the case.
This just isn’t so. Most people are so aware of the benefits of using their regular shampoos that they would not stop using them on any account.
The main thing to remember is that you should be aware of your own hair type and should find a shampoo that suits your hair the best.
If you have discovered that then keep using your favourite shampoo. There is no real link between unhealthy hair and the repeated use of one single type of shampoo
If you want to try a change of shampoo why not go for Essens CBD Shampoo. A perfect healthy choice for your hair.
  2. Cutting your hair regularly makes it grow
You must have often heard it said that “regular trimming of hair encourages growth” It is true that regular trimming of the hair helps to avoid split ends and helps to keep the hair healthy, but in no way does it affect the way that your hair grows.
The next time someone tells you so be sure to correct them because, actually your hair grows from the roots not the tips.
It is still important to give your hair a trim every 6 weeks or 2-3 months, depending on your choice, but this doesn’t increase growth or length.
  3. Plucking grey hair makes more grey hair grow
Now here’s a choice myth. Plucking the hair does tend to irritate the follicle which leads to unhealthy hair but no matter how many grey hairs your pluck, it won’t make more grey hairs grow. However, having said that, it is better to stay away from plucking the hair altogether.
  4. Over-shampooing helps
This is not the case. You should only shampoo your hair twice in the one go. The first time you shampoo, you wash out the dirt, grime and oil. The second time you shampoo, you basically give the hair strands nourishment, so that’s when you massage and lather.
You do not need to keep rinsing and repeating shampooing no matter how much you love its gorgeous fragrant smell.
Also do not use too much shampoo the second time round as that will strip your scalp of the natural oils and make your hair far too dry
  5. Lighten your hair with sunlight
It is true that the sunlight is one of the best natural beauty tips for your hair, but it is not wise to overdo it.
The scalp can be very prone to sunburn as it is very sensitive, and you are likely to damage follicles and cause irreparable damage to your scalp. As well as that you could leave your hair feeling very dry and undernourished.
If you want to lighten your hair naturally try using a natural lightening product like lemon and stay out of the burning hot sun rays.
  6. Combing hair from top to bottom
It is obvious that combing is a great way to detangle the hair, and detangling should be done sooner rather than later to keep it protected and healthy. Over-combing hair from top to bottom can cause a lot of breakage, especially if it’s wet! So, try starting at the ends, and working your way up from there.
